NEK CHAND IS AN INDIAN ARTIST. BUILT THE ROCK GARDEN OF CHANDIGARH, A FORTY ACRE SCULPTURE GARDEN IN THE INDIAN CITY OF CHANDIGARH
FOR THE MUSEUM OF EVERYTHING HE MADE BEAUTIFUL FIGURES MADE OUT OF WHAT LOOKED LIKE MAYBE CEMENT OR PLASTER.
THE FIGURES RANGED FROM ABOUT 2FT TO 5FT IN HEIGHT AND WERE ARRANGED SO THAT THEY WERE LOOKING OUTWARDS AT THE AUDIENCE AND ALTHOUGH NOT NESSACERILY MADE TO INTERACT TOGETHER - FORMED A COHESIVE GROUP. THEY WERE PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE EN MASS. THE CULTURAL BACKGROUND OF THE ARTIST WAS CLEARLY A BIG INFLUENCE WHEN MAKING THESE FIGURES , ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAME TO THE COSTUMES WORN AND THE COLOURS USED.
INTERESTING TO SEE HOW A LARGE GROUP OF FIGURES CAN BE DISPLAYED TO LOOK AT THEIR MOST IMPRESSIVE, ESPECIALLY IN A SMALL SPACE
IN THE DISPLAY FOR THE MUSEUM OF EVERYTHING THESE LAST TWO SETS OF FIGURES WERE MIXED TOGETHER AND THERE WERE ALOT MORE OF THEM. THEY WERE ALSO AT DIFFERENT HEIGHTS AND THERE WAS QUITE ALOT OF DEPTH IN THE SPACE
