SIMPLE BOOK BINDING

THIS PROJECT (PROJECT 2) IS ALL ABOUT THE IDEA OF CHILDREN/ADULTS MAKING THEIR OWN BOOK OUT OF THE PAGES THEY CHOOSE. THIS MEANS THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO FIND A REALLY SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE AND FOOL PROOF WAY OF BINDING A BOOK OF AN INDEFINITE NUMBER OF PAGES.
THIS IS ACTUALLY QUITE GOOD FOR ME, BECAUSE IN THE A-Z PROJECT I FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO THINK OF A WAY TO BIND MY BOOKS. I WILL TRY A VARIETY OF METHODS TO SEE WHICH ONE IS THE MOST APPROPRIATE.

METHOD ONE:
THIS IS FROM INSTRUCTABLES.COM WHICH IS AN AMERICAN WEBSITE THAT TELLS YOU HOW TO MAKE STUFF.
THEY SUGGEST MAKING THE HOLES WITH A DRILL (!) BUT YOU CAN USE A HAMMER AND NAILS. THIS METHOD IT POSSIBLE, BUT IT REQUIRES THE BINDING TO OCCUR DOWN A CENTRAL SPINE - WHICH MINE OBVIOUSLY WON'T HAVE..

METHOD TWO:
I SAW THIS DIAGRAM, AS WELL AS THINKING ABOUT THE ABOVE IDEA, AND IT MAKES SENSE TO HAVE THE PAGES ALREADY PRE-HOLE PUNCHED. THAT WAY PEOPLE WOULD NOT FEEL DISCOURAGED ABOUT HAVING TO FAFF AROUND WITH DRILLS AND HAMMERS.

FOLLOWING ON FROM THIS IDEA, YOU CAN GET INDIVIDUAL RING BINDER RINGS, SO THERE COULD BE 2/3/4 OF THEM INCLUDED IN THE SET DEPENDING ON THE NUMBERS OF HOLES IN THE PAGES. THIS WOULD BE A SIMPLE SOLUTION.

THEY COME IN A VARIETY OF DIAMETERS:

20MM
25MM
38MM
50MM
64MM
AND SLIGHT DIFFERENCES IN FUNCTIONS.

METHOD THREE:
ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE IS TO USE BOOK BINDING SCREWS. I WOULD STILL MAKE THE HOLES IN THE BOOK AS BEFORE, BUT THE SCREWS WOULD MAKE THE BOOK LESS LOOSE AND MORE BOOKISH IN A WAY.

METHOD FOUR:
USING EITHER OF THESE TECHNIQUES, THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF JUST MAKING ONE HOLE IN A CORNER.
